Platform Purpose
Shiftance helps approved coworkers coordinate Need Coverage requests and Swap Shift requests inside private Work Groups. The platform is designed to organize communication between employees, not to replace employer scheduling systems or workplace approval procedures.
Eligibility
Shiftance is for users who are at least 18 years old and can legally enter into this agreement. You may use Shiftance only for lawful workplace coordination and are responsible for confirming that your use complies with your employer's policies.
User Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, including requests, responses, confirmations, support tickets, and payment activity.
Connected Sign-ins
Shiftance may offer Google as an optional sign-in method in addition to email and password. A connected sign-in does not bypass profile, age, verification, Work Group, safety, payment, or account-status requirements.
Work Group Rules
Work Groups are private spaces for approved coworkers. All active verified members are equal peers. Creating a Work Group does not create owner, manager, or special approval authority. Any active verified member may invite coworkers and may approve or deny new join requests.
Shift Posting Rules
Requests must describe real scheduling needs. You may not post fake, misleading, duplicate, or unauthorized requests. Shiftance helps coworkers coordinate coverage and swaps. Users are responsible for following their employer's scheduling and approval requirements.
Coverage Requests
A Need Coverage request lets a coworker ask approved Work Group members for help covering a shift. A response does not guarantee employer approval or final coverage.
Shift Swaps
A Swap Shift request lets coworkers coordinate a possible exchange of shifts. All swaps remain subject to workplace approval and any applicable scheduling rules.
Optional Bonuses
A coworker posting an eligible request may optionally fund a Bonus from $25 through $100 in $5 increments. Bonuses apply per individual shift and may be held, released, paused, or refunded according to Shiftance payment rules. Shiftance does not fund Bonuses or guarantee earnings.
Subscription Terms
Shiftance Pro costs $4.99 per month. You can cancel anytime. Cancellation stops the next renewal, Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period, and the account returns to Free after that period. Pro does not bypass Fair Access, warnings, suspensions, Work Group requirements, or employer approval.
Payment Terms
Normal Coverage and Swap posting and claiming are free. Stripe processes Shiftance Pro subscriptions and real-world coworker Bonus transactions. The posting coworker pays a Shiftance service fee based on the Bonus: $2.99 for $25–$50, $3.75 for $55–$75, or $4.59 for $80–$100. Urgent status is free. You authorize the amounts shown before checkout.
Optional Push Notifications
The Shiftance iOS app may offer optional push notifications for shift opportunities and activity involving your shifts. You can control supported push categories in Shiftance Settings and manage device permission in iOS. Turning push notifications off does not disable your account or in-app notification history.
Account Termination
Shiftance may restrict, suspend, ban, or remove accounts that violate these terms, platform policies, safety rules, payment rules, or applicable law. One active account per person is allowed. Duplicate accounts used to bypass warnings, suspensions, bans, payments, Pro rules, or other protections are prohibited.
User Responsibilities
- Use Shiftance honestly and respectfully.
- Confirm workplace approval before relying on a swap or coverage arrangement.
- Respond promptly when action is required.
- Keep account, request, and payment information accurate.
- Report abuse, fraud, or unsafe activity.
Acceptable Conduct
You may not harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, spam, abuse payments, submit malicious reports, evade restrictions, sell accounts, misuse invite codes, or attempt to bypass Fair Access or security protections.
User Content
You are responsible for workplace names, Work Group names, profile information, request descriptions, and other content you submit. Workplace or Work Group references do not imply employer endorsement. Shiftance may remove or restrict fraudulent, misleading, abusive, harassing, infringing, or prohibited content.
Intellectual Property
Shiftance owns the platform, design, software, trademarks, and related materials. You retain ownership of your own lawful content, but you give Shiftance permission to use it as needed to operate and support the service.
Third-Party Providers
Shiftance uses trusted service providers for account access, payments, email delivery, analytics, and hosting. These include Supabase, Stripe, Resend, and PostHog. Those providers may process information needed to provide their services under their own terms and privacy policies.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shiftance is not liable for workplace decisions, missed coverage, employer discipline, scheduling disputes, indirect damages, lost wages, lost opportunities, or issues outside Shiftance's reasonable control.
Dispute Resolution
Please contact Shiftance first so we can try to resolve concerns informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled under applicable law and any dispute process that applies to these Terms.
Governing Law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable to Shiftance's operating entity, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This section should be reviewed by legal counsel before public production launch.
