Getting Started
What is Shiftance?
Shiftance helps coworkers coordinate Coverage and Swap requests inside private Work Groups.
Does Shiftance approve schedule changes?
No. Employees remain responsible for their employer’s scheduling, attendance, and approval requirements.
How does a Work Group activate?
A Work Group becomes active when three verified coworkers have joined.
Work Groups
Who manages a Work Group?
Work Groups use an equal-peer structure. They do not create an owner, manager, or administrator role among coworkers.
Who can invite coworkers?
Any active verified member may invite coworkers under the current Work Group rules.
How many Work Groups can I join?
Free users may participate in one Work Group. Pro users may participate in up to three.
Coverage & Swaps
What is a Coverage request?
A Coverage request asks eligible coworkers to help with a shift the posting coworker cannot work.
What is a Swap request?
A Swap request helps coworkers coordinate an exchange of shifts.
Does Shiftance guarantee that a request will be accepted?
No. Requests depend on eligible coworkers choosing to respond and on applicable workplace requirements.
Bonuses & Payments
Who pays a Bonus?
The coworker posting a qualifying request may add a Bonus from their own funds. Shiftance does not provide the Bonus.
Does every request include a Bonus?
No. Bonuses are optional, and many requests may have no Bonus.
When is a Bonus handled?
A posted Bonus is handled after the qualifying request is successfully completed under Shiftance’s payment and completion rules.
Shiftance Pro
What does Pro early access mean?
Bonus and Urgent requests are visible to everyone immediately. Pro users may interact immediately, while Free users may interact 60 minutes after posting.
How much is Shiftance Pro?
Shiftance Pro is $4.99 per month and can be cancelled anytime.
Does Pro override normal eligibility rules?
No. Pro does not bypass request eligibility, workplace requirements, or platform safety rules.
Accounts & Safety
Are Work Groups public?
No. Work Groups are private coworker groups with membership and verification controls.
Can I report a concern?
Yes. Shiftance provides reporting and support paths for account, request, payment, and safety concerns.
Who handles password recovery?
Use Forgot Password on the Sign In screen. Shiftance will send the secure reset link you need to choose a new password.
